Once everyone has their 2 hole cards, a round of betting starts. The player to the left of the dealer acts first. They can choose to check (not put any money into the pot) or call the bet of the player before them.
The dealer then deals three more cards face up on the table, these are known as community cards and are available to everyone. There is another round of betting, starting with the player to the left of the dealer. Depending on the rules of your game, you may also be able to swap out the cards in your hand for other ones during or after this phase.
