Poker is a card game in which players make five-card hands against the other players. It is played with a standard 52-card English deck and has subtle variations in betting structures. Players buy in for a specific amount of chips (representing money), which they place in the pot at the start of each betting interval according to the rules of the particular poker variant being played. The player with the highest hand at the end of the round wins the pot.<\/p>\n
During the course of a hand, the dealer puts three cards face-up on the table that everyone can use (this is called the flop). Then, in turn, each player places chips into the pot equal to or more than the total contribution made by the player before him.<\/p>\n

There are two emotions that will kill your poker game in the long run, and they are defiance and hope. The first will make you want to hold your ground against a player who is making a big bet, even when you know you don\u2019t have the best cards.
